Well, since we are coming uo on the flower show as well as a big storm thats forecast, I thought I'd catch up and gove some island news. I haven't written the ohana in ages and some of you wonder whats up. I have just been getting stock ready for thie show. Walking the dog. Taking care of Mom and Haole, Tiko and Boot.

Its been a warmish winter, maybe a bit wet on Whidbey, but not like everywhere else in the sound. Nope, we did not feel any earthquake. With all the wind, who could? The tree near the workshop whapped me on the head the other evening as I was headed to the house. Wind howling in the trees. Thats all we have to fear with this next storm, just wind. It will still be pretty warm. Power will probably go out, but theres not much new in that. We are pretty used to it. Sounds like the worst of it will come thru in daylight tomorrow, so we'll sneak out early for a big breakfast and a dog walk, maybe stop at the store..then home to get ready.

One day recently when Boot and I were at the beach, blowing windy and spitting rain we watched a man getting ready to take a zodiac out, dressed all in foul weather gear. I asked what was up and he said his boat had broke away from her mooring. I said, "wheres she at?" and he pointed way over on the far west shore, where she was bobbing around against a sea wall in the surge and wind. He was doing fine, tho. I drove by after town chores an hour later and he was powering back on his boat, rubber boat in tow while he found a better mooring spot. Folks pretty capable out here.

I have made a ton of new jewelry for the Flower and Garden Show next week. Lowie and I will be there all week while Ralph and Mom and Boots hold down the fort at home. Its a hard working vacation, but still like a vacation for me in a way. I enjoy it so much. About the time I get used to being in the city 24 hours a day, its time for load-out and I get to come home. It will be all Taco del Mar and room service, fun for those of us who generally have to drive 15 to 30 miles for anything approaching fast food! I have never been so far from a Taco Bell and missed it so much! Lots of convieniences in the Convention Center tho, and only a few blocks or so to the hotel. We will avoid Murder park and the scary street, and Lo and I will do just fine.I will miss my big wolf, tho. A girl gets used to a huge furry body guard around...Course, I will smell better without all that fur all over me.

OK I have forgotten all the things I planned to say. so I am out of here. Come to the show and buy lots! Valentines day is looming and I have my best sets and individual items I have ever had, surely you will see a few things you can't resist givingthe valentines in your life. The girl valentines, at least.
