Look at these cool new flaming guitar pins I have been making! These are all a bit bigger than they are shown and in sterling silver of course. The color is polymer resin, a lacquer-like substance that I hand apply.
You all are probably sick of my Rammstein gushing, but between them and Apocalyptica, its been 'life-changing' music year for me! I really love screaming guitar music, always have...now I have found a way to satisfy my need to express that love with these little guitar pins wrapped in sterling hand forged flames. They are so cute! So sharp and pointy! They demand attention by the wearer and the observer, those little pointed flames are prickly! I like that feature, not easy and 'quiet' to wear, they make their presence felt!
I made earrings (some set with opal or garnet) pins (colored or set with blue topaz, lab grown star sapphire, opal and garnet) and a couple necklaces with either color or stones. I found this luminous opalescent lacquer for the opal necklace, looks very nice! There is an amethyst one on the bench now, too.
About 15 years ago I made a batch of guitar pins for musician friends, but this is the first time I have made a collection to put on display. I plan to debut them at the Best Of The Northwest's fall Seattle Show on November 18-20 at Magnusen Park on Lake Washington, out in Hangar 27. If you are planning to come and begin your holiday shopping at the show that weekend, be sure and come see these great little pieces!
If you have a special guitar body style or color or gem request, get in touch with me soon so I can plan the time to make it for you. Custom pieces sometimes take longer and require extra design or research time. And if you want a special stringed instrument (please somebody, order a flaming cello! Apocalyptica fans, I'd love to make one for you!) I am open to your custom order. I just need an image...the rest will be interpreted with much 'artististic license' as you have come to expect from my work.
Need to talk about an order? workshop@shadowfaxjewelry.com is the best way to reach me!
