Hey! Sorry I never figured out how to make that last image see-able, but I just couldn't take the time or beg for the help loud enough! Maybe I can find you something cool to view this time!
At any rate, the Jeweler's bench sale continues for a few days and there are great changes going on in there this week! All the import fine art goods and watercolor paintings are going back to their owner and the old Jewelers Bench returns in full, with the bench going back up front where you can all watch the jeweler at her work. Carrie is still looking for a goldsmith to help with the workload, too much stonesetting so jobs are backing up...but in general the shop is returning to its old look with new items flowing in daily. Watch for a line of local glassworks, projected for later this month. And not to forget Jimi O'Neill's Navajo style silver work, concho belts and bracelets, etc. Thats Jimi O'Neill of Jim Morrison's famous concho belt fame, an old maker of really traditional metalwork. Here is a piece of his latest work. And don't take the svasti symbol wrong-its a very ancient mystical symbol of great power in Navajo lore.

And where is it you can find this work? Once again, thats Jewelers Bench Main street, Freeland near Cenex, across from Payless Foods.
Here in paradise its been a week of cool mornings, sprinkles and killer warm sunny afternoons, and the garden is thriving. We had the first salad made from home grown greens, not a big salad, but all the same it felt good to go out and gather in the violets and lettuces, and all the other odd greens I love.
Lots of soldering this week, a reward for all the hair wrap grinding the last few weeks. I can't ignore the client's needs TOO long, but some of them want the usual Barb-stuff, some want the wraps and its all finding its own balance. Its nice to be soldering again, but by monday I expect to be back at the drillpress. Sigh.
OK thats it for today. Heres one more to hold you over. Another Jimi O'Neill piece. You can call Jewelers Bench at 360-331-7899 for info on any of his work.
