A REALLY BIG thanks to all of you that came to see us at the Spring Best of the Northwest last weekend! I appreciate you all so very much and I am so happy you loved my newest pieces! And the new colors of hairwraps were popular with the little girls and big ones alike. Its so nice to be able to make all these things for you! I have the best job!
The weather was changeable, but we were dry and warm inside, and since my booth was next to Whidbey's Coffee, it was a perfectly cozy and comfortable weekend! Its a dog friendly venue, so we ran thru a box of milkbone, treating our customer's furry friends to treats for being such good dogs. Big Boots got to come in briefly on sunday before load out, but he is SO HUGE that after he knocked over the bankcard machine table twice, ate all the food he could find in my booth and my patient and long suffering neighbor Greg's, we put him back out in the van to do his watch dog job. But he got to see his favorite crafters and visit a bit, so he was ok with the waiting.
Today it was up early again, unloading, then reloading Ralph's tools so he could run up to Anacortes to finish up a Crystalite deck railing system he is installing in a fabulous view home. I am amazed he seems to have endless energy and humor with his 61st birthday looming. I could hardly keep up with the Boot on our walk today! I had to stop and rest on a little creekside bench in the sunshine to get enough energy gathered to get back up the hill to the car! I bet Lauren was as pooped as me, we stood and talked and laughed out loud for 3 days, and it takes a lot out of ya!
We seem to be a popular spot at shows with the young gorgeous staff men and women, their dogs and their friends, so it is always a tremendous amount of fun for us. I think our comfortable tall chairs and centrallocation made us an ideal spot for their breaks, the whole food court and stage area could still be watched and staff interacted with easily. We certainly adore all the folks that put that great event on. We heard the world's richest man attended, but I never saw him so I can't confirm the runor...but considering one of the world's wealthiest women, the venerable and extremely gracious Mrs Hearst is a customer of mine, I would think he'd have found me if he was there! His is a face one would know anywhere.
OK I am going to go relax on the deck for an afternoon nap, and I will blog again shortly with the image advertising my next showing which will be at Jeweler's Bench in Freeland, a springtime collection for Mother's Day offering a free gift of Shadowfax Jewelry with every Shadowfax purchase. Can't beat that offer, pretty earrings to sweeten the deal!
Thanks all, once again. You are all so great! Barbara
