Hi!
Its been ages since I blogged! One reason is that I was in heavy production for a month, then busy with mom and winterizing. Got the little greenhouse up and full, bulbs back in the pots for spring, storm windows on. Its coming together slowly.
Each day brings us closer to our last show of the year, the NWCA’s Best of the Northwest Seattle Fall show, November 19-21 at Magnusen Park on Lake Washington. Its held in Hangar 27, and parking is free! If you would like a free pass for 2 people, email from this page to me soon, and I will send them out until I run out! If you want to print a discount coupon, go to their website www.northwestcraftsalliance.com and you will find one available, and more show info. As usual on Friday night there will be a benefit for Children’s Hospital, and all gate proceeds go to them. They will have dozens of items for their silent auction so cruise by those tables and see what you can find.
I want to plead with you a bit and encourage you to avoid the cheap disposable import items for holiday gifts this year! The plight of the American Artist is very real, at the bottom of the food chain so to speak! The influx of cheaply made mass produced goods has crushed thousands of us across the country.
Come back to the quality and love put into a regionally made item, one that will be around for generations…a treasured heirloom or special garment, original art or (of course) piece of art jewelry that will be that future ‘Roadshow’ find in a hundred years. We’ll probably be receiving it direct and live to our brains or whatever wild high tech communications device, but THESE are the things that make their mark in a culture’s heritage, marking who we were, what we loved, how we viewed the world. The Best of the Northwest is truly that!
We have put our very hearts and souls into these beautiful meaningful things we make for you, and you have to know that a lovely hand crafted piece is always the best choice.
And that rant delivered, let me shmooze you a bit with my specials! I have come up with a gorgeous new batch of bead necklaces and matching earrings! My pretty viney clasps of course, and beads in rainbow hues, graduated, made from mostly glass. Lampworked, frosted, carved, fire washed you name it, they are a wonderful chop suey of color! And all the beads have been repriced to my lowest show prices in years. Since I will be doing only a few shows from now on, this is a good time to come see what I have. Some of your favorite high end items, things that are left from the Boise Art Museum show are marked down to new lows. All my standard earrings are marked down. Rings will be down as soon as I get to them, new mabe pearl pieces in the new seaweed and clamshell motif will be priced extremely fairly…and in the Hair Wrap department I have pretty new organza bags filled with collections of our anodized colored wraps, and beaded wraps are all repriced for the holidays. 10.00 and 15.00 will get any of the aluminum or brass beaded wraps!
Be sure and check back! I will have more images for you to see soon, I hope!
