TODAY STARTS THE 8TH ANNUAL STUDIO TOUR WEEKEND!
Over 70 Whidbey Islanders have opened their workshops and studios for you to visit.
I have brought the exhibit cases up to the workshop, set out the jewelry and set out tools and other items I use in my daily work for you to see and handle. Try your arm with the bronze hammer on the ancient 1889 anvil! And if you hurry, the crows may leave you some grapes and chocolate and starbursts...but Brad and Haole had to chase them away already this morning! Sparkling Cider and water as well, and view seats under the tent, and its a DOG FRIENDLY showcase, so let your friends out for a romp on the lawn! Big Boots is off with the guys visiting woodworker's shops, so no worries about the huge wolf-thing scaring your little dogs...tho he is generally a perfect dog.
Heres the info you need!
I will be around the next 2 days, so stop in and see the newest work.
Ralph will be out visiting other shops with Big Island Brad, who will end his day today in Anacortes, waiting to catch a ferry to Orcas so he can visit relatives from the islands...the Hawaiian Islands, that is. They work at Rosario Resort, so I know Brad will enjoy the view up there!
Our 3rd semi-annual Ohana Reunion, E Kipa Hou Mai 2004, is almost over for this year. Tate and Tim still returning here, but they are crewing a boat back to Portland from Whidbey, so I don't expect them for a couple days yet. It was a fabulous event, with friends from 35 to 40 years ago finally getting found and invited, and it was just as if not a week had past between our togetherness! Sammy and Tina! Tate! Tim! Dave Dude (and Oscar...grrr)! Tracy and Mark and the little Yorkies! Corey Kimball and Laurie! Bradley! Bluesman Scott 'Mule' Muhleman, harmonica still stuck in his mouth!
Just like the old days, only older, fatter, happier and mellower and SO READY to gather for our reunion!
Thanks all, for the fun and the love! It was truly wonderful! I am already looking forward so much for July of 2006, when we do it again!!!
Here is a silly one for you! 15, almost 16 year old Barb by Corey, Ivo Van Laake's VLAAG (he circumnavigated in this 18'1" sailboat! Wow!) in the background with the old Ala Wai Harbor all around, my old neighborhood in Hawaii.
