Take a look at this new piece. Taking it with me to TriCities next week for the Sidewalk Show in Richland.

I started out with a compass in mind, a sort of four pointed star, but it didn't finish out that way at all!

I think its definitely one of those things that can go a lot of different ways.

Still, pretty, no?

I forgot to blog Choochokam last week!

Can you believe it?

And all sorts of good things going on! I just got SO busy, and by friday it was just TOO little time left for blogging.

Friday we did a photo shoot with a gorgeous girl, the daughter of a friend from shows. I had scouted out the beach for a neat spot, and after the cloudburst we managed to get a bunch of great pictures. The choice was hard enough already, then on sunday at Choochokam we slipped away while Lowie ran the booth, and took more down on the Langley Waterfront. Tide was in, but the walk along the grass gave us even MORE good shots.

Testing Testing did a live realtime webcast of the Choochokam music stages, hosted by David Ossman of Firesign Theater, David and his wife Judith live here on Whidbey and spend a LOT of time on the radio, mostly on KSER, but also are regular TT guests. I have had David acost me in the Mukilteo Ferry Lot while wolfing down a Taco Bell Burrito (yeah, yeah I RAN for the border...on live radio. At least radio didn't show the hot sauce on my chin.

Anyway, the Choochokam talent was pretty extreme...Bahia, Beverly Graham (Wow! What a stagefull on that one, never heard her band sound so good! Jeeze!) On sunday my favorite local knockout girl singer Janie Cribbs hit the street dance stage with so much charisma (and guitarist Joe Regiatore! Man, really!) I literally got sucked out of my booth and down the street, HAD to see how she looked (ohmigawd!) hear how she sang, watch how she loved the crowd and let us love her back, watched her with band 'and Friends', some amazing drummer and keyboard guy...seen them around, forgot their names. Wow it was so fun. The Shifty Sailors were there, and Jack Knauer...much Cuban, Andean, Brazilian...singer-songwriters on other stages I didn't get to see.

So sorry I forgot to let ya all it was going on, it was just one of those weeks, but NEXT year I promise to tell ya, cause its becoming a really great music thing.

I believe if you go to www.testingtesting.com you can see and hear much of the mainstage goings on, lots of David Ossman, shots of the show. Gordy tries to get the shows archived for those folks that didn't get to be there, but hes had a bad start to his week (dentistry and beyond) so if its not up today, give him a couple days. Its so VERY VERY worth it to listen in to any TestingTesting show, but this one was the coolest remote yet.

OK I gotta bounce. I am so far behind that simply being LATE is in my rearview mirror, just a tiny spot...nope, disappeared around the bend.
Bye!
Barbara
