Hi all you art loving friends out there! I have a project for you.

A client has brought me a treasure found in a french flea market. I will be making a wondeful seaweed-shells piece around her. She was in a crude brass mounting, probably newer than the lady (tho not by much!).
She looks like she had small stones glued into her earring and in the wave below her.

Eau is imprinted. AB is the signature The work is lovely, very finely repouse'd and carved, very beautiful and finely done curls of ocean wave. Some Nouveau Sea maiden or goddess?

Take a look and see what you think of her. I feel a twinge of guilt reworking her...but then its likely I am not the first smith to handle her! And imagine how lovely she will be when I'm done and I set her into her new home! But still, what if shes valuable or rare or very precious!
