This is the first day of the Northwest Flower and Garden Show!

It is the most special show of our traveling year. Huge, fragrant, colorful and endlessly interesting, I can't possibly recommend it enough! This is our 16th year, and it still remains the favorite show for us. This year the gardens feature some wonderful tree houses, pools, greenhouses and lots of interesting garden art sculptures. The commercial exhibits are full of absolutely every garden related item imaginable. New things are always fun, and I saw the neatest folding wheelbarrows! Every tool, plant, bulb and seed you can think of is available somewhere in the massive pair of halls. Upstairs are lecture halls featuring over 100 FREE lectures by every pro in every field! There are a total of 27 gardens, 370 commercial and educational exhibits and much more. Bonsai, orchids, arrangements, garden clubs, whatever your interest, you can find it!

Here is one of the neat treehouses!

Here is an outdoor room and outdoor chess.

We are in booth 617 near the main garden area, next to our friends at Sunset Publishing. We have been neighbors many years, and it is always so great to be next to the Sunset Girls..and "New Guy, Tom". This organization is truly something very special, and we have email relationships all year with the girls. We simply love them, and love the way they deal with customers. Every bit of feedback, every request for books not yet written are carefully considered and submitted by the marketing director for future publication. Bring your questions and ideas. They love it! I want a book on creative dog houses! Mr Boots, the huge and hairy deserves a cool place to hang...besides my bed!

Be sure to come see this event if you can. Ride the chartered coaches from Northgate Mall round trip for 3.00, right into the building lobby. Its easy, fast and much simpler than Seattle parking. We are at th Paramount Hotel this year, very new and friendly, our favorite bell man from the old Camlin hotel works there now, so that was a nice surprise! He is really the most attentive and helpful staff person! Tom is his name, and I can't recommend him enough. The restaurant downstairs, Dragonfish is one of my 2 favorite Seattle dining spots, with the fiery Dragonfire Chicken being my choice most nights! Its such beautiful excellent Pan-Asian food. Wow! Way original!

OK I am signing off now for tonight and probably won't blog again til its over, the show goes til sunday night, and after load out we are pretty wiped out, so next blog I'll tell you all about how it was. Its usually one of the best shows of our year, and expect the same this year! Lowie comes in tomorrow to work the next few days, so come visit us and see the great new things I made! Its more colorful than any display I have had in years! Very fun! Bud pins in new styles, old styles, brass and sterling, beads to fit every color taste, gold rings to drool over and all my nicest silver styles, all available for the last time in Seattle til next May. There is drusy quartz, fossils, chrysoprase, porcelain with lovely illustrations of bugs and flowers drawn for me by Colleen Gallegher of Benn Pottery...and spiders, spirals, carvings...too much to tell you about! Better come see!
