DECK THE DOG





Just days before Christmas
We thought that we should
Find us a live tree
And add color to our woods

We scouted around
To find one that would do
Saw this pretty young spruce
Foliage silvery blue

We wrapped it with lights
Hung our best glitter balls
It really looked great
So lovely so tall

Boots watched us closely
He seemed quite intrigued
Perhaps he’d never guessed
We could do outdoor trees

We walked back to the house
For just one more thing
One last decoration
Then back out to our tree



We found our young spruce
Leaning down at an angle
With Boots in the grass
In a terrific tangle

All covered with colors
He thought he looked fine
We’d never imagined
That Bootie would climb

We’re not sure how he did it
Have not a clue why
Boots would climb trees
Guess he just had to try

The camera was handy
Quite luckily
So we can show all of you
Boots and our tree
