I just finished a really pretty little necklace, set with carved flourite flowers. I predict this one will be popular, so I will try to find time to make more...in the meantime, take a look!

Its such a cute piece! Its about 15" long, so it fits like a choker. It costs 110.00.
I'm taking it to Pasco for the Custer show in a couple weeks, if you want it, e me soon!

And here are a few more interesting things to see! These are fossilized sand dollars, between 4 and 7 million years old. I have quite a few for sale right now, and can show you pictures of all the variety of colors and patterns. Some are so old they have only a pale pattern, some have a beautiful graffic design. Heres a variety.

For this years holiday shows I have a new line of tiny scatter pins. Spirals, tiny spiders, etc they all will sell for between 10 and 20 dollars. They will work as pins or tie tacks.
New earring styles match the flourite flower necklace, and are long enough to fit in with this fall's fashions, know as shoulder dusters and chandelier earrings. Be sure to come to Custers Christmas show in Pasco and The Best of the Northwest in Seattle next month. Info is available on my website. I will NOT be exhibiting at the Portland Show this year, sorry!

Well, I must go and set the latest batch of spider earrings and some new pendants. One of them is so neat, I may scan it in and let you all see it. I believe it will have a name, probably Surya, as it has a wonderful carved amber sun face, very sublime and wise...but mounted in a setting with a rare Washingtom banded agate in gold and white, with a thick frosting of drusy at the top.

Take a look again in a few days and see it!

Well it has been weeks since I blogged, but I didn't really drop off the planet, I simply got to involved with other stuff. Well, a big part of it is that the new-old hot tub got hooked up after a year and a half in the driveway on blocks, and every evening has been spent in the tub, after our Mom duties, visiting and giving her the company she needs. Even these stormy nights we are in the tub, we only skipped one night! It was blowing about 45 mph after a hugely windy day, and I just couldn't bring myself to get in it! Its on the west side of the house overlooking the sea, so its pretty exposed to the elements...too scary! But whats a mere 25-35 mph? Hardly notice that after all the wind we have had lately.

Poor Seattle and surrounding communities, all the rain and flooding. For some reason we have had only a few showers, not the constant downpour on the mainland, so its relatively dry here, and the few showers are easy to dodge. The plants like it, especially the stuff I have moved lately and the bulbs that are beginning to go into the pots. Spring is best here, on our deck. Lots of big tulips and daffodils. Every couple years I put them in the yard and start over, so I can plant the bulbs nearly shoulder to shoulder, I like the pots really full...and the squirrels steal half of them anyway, so they are thinned by the little criminals.
Going to chicken wire, this year!

Next show for us is Custer's Christmas Arts and Crafts Show out in Pasco. Its an easy fun event we call The Candy Show as we eat sheets of almond toffee and huckleberry truffles all day every day we are there, and on the drive home. Its always a frightening drive home sunday night over the pass, seems to always be storming. I don't know why we push it each year, unless its to save the time and money of yet another hotel night.
We caravan with other crafters, in a long line. The first one out calls back to us still loading out with road conditions. Then we stop in Ellensburg for massive caffiene, loiter and gas up with our friends a bit, and decide wether to stay or go on. That last bit from Cle Elum to North Bend to Issaquah is just the worst! Its always in a rush so we make the last boat home.

Whats up on the workbench? I have been filling all the dozens of orders that piled up over the spring and summer shop season, and filling a few wholesale orders. Also beginning to plan the month long show I will do at Jewelers Bench here in Freeland. Last year we showed about 7 jewelers styles, each very different and each very original. This year we may concentrate on just a few, but it should be nice to concentrate of style groupings more, really show people the full range of a jewelers work. If you come out to the island in December, be sure to stop in and see Carrie, take a look at all the beautiful things. If we are lucky, there will be a carved granite and marble display as well, featuring the sandblasted illustrations of Mike Sedivy from Idaho.

OK I have really got nothing else. I plan to scan in a batch of fossil sand dollars for you to purchase before I send them back to the stone cutter, and maybe a finished item to show you whats possible...look back in a day or 2 and see what I have for you!

Laters,
B
