My car started!

I have been sort of stranded out here while I wait for the appointment to see why she won't always start...its weird to get somewhere and not know if I can get home! Out here in the country its a long way to walk if you are stuck!
Though its very hard to walk away from a running car, I took Boots to the beach as he hadn't had a walk in 2 weeks...we stayed close and there was no one there but some boaters putting their runabout in the water at the ramp up the beach a ways, so we walked a bit... but 30 years and more of driving make it pretty hard to leave a car running and to walk off up a beach! She goes thursday to Guitar Dave at McQueen's Service in Freeland for a once over...If any one can figure it out, its Dave, hes taken good care of her for 12 years now. I spent a pleasant hour at Dave's last week while I waited for mom to have her hair done, and I have a batch of new music to cheer him with. It was fun watching him disassemble a power antenna that had snapped off, listening to the curses and jokes of the guys. I always love other peoples workshops as much as mine. He has his all cleaned up and organized at last after moving in there just a few months ago from his own place up in Greenbank. Now he has a busy shop with a couple guys in it, Marty to order and girls to handle the billing, so its better. I miss the music, tho...his was always a rockin shop!

All the materials came in friday for the special orders and repairs. Ms Wing in Georgia, Mara in Portland, you have things about to be made! Amy on Bainbridge, too! RJ Vickers Herbery in Conneticut, butterflies on the bench for you, too, but Ms Wing and Mara are first! Amy will get ideas first by email...I am a bit intimidated by that amazing aquamarine! Its too lovely for me, I think! The garnet comes first!
Kym in California, e me your favorite color! I have an armband with your name on it! Green, pink, silver, gold, turquoise, purple, violet...up to you!

Its cool and heavy and grey today on the island, all the green seems so brilliant, more so with the moist air and the first trees going red and gold, the deep black blackberries heavy all around. The water is perfectly still and reflective, no birds at the beach but crows, no eagles or herons or kingfishers out. Here at home all the songbirds and my own spoiled gang of crows are busy grazing the feeders (the crows get dog kibbles)and catching spiders and bugs in the grass, and it is getting colder and moister by the minute. I think I will sit back and enjoy my Whidbey's Coffee mocha (double grande made by Angie, my first in 2 weeks!! I missed them so much!) while I get the bench organized and turn on the tanks and prepare to make stuff. It will feel great, as its been a long time since I did anything but hairwraps and travel! Cranking up the tunes and reclaiming my space! Its cold out here but thats ok with me!

Aloha!
