Boise Art Museum's Art in the Park was great!

It was hot and sunny and the park was beautiful. Sales were good after a summer of shows showing a definite downward trend. I didn't sell the nicer things like I thought I would, but sold a zillion hairwraps and maybe 2 zillion earrings. Didn't sell many of the really special ones, not like the usual wild indulgent love of art they usually show. Everyone is cutting back on spending.

Somehow I imagined Boise was exempt, as it has always been so wonderful a city to be in. So lush in the brown desert, like an oasis, rivers all blue and trees everywhere...enclosed by rolling brown nothingness leading upwards to open woodlands. It seems that the sky there is especially dramatic. Or maybe I'm just hyper sensitive to the environment after living here, clinging to the bluff and watching the weather pouring off the Olympics and blasting across the inlet.

Everything and everybody doing very well at home, and its so sweet to be in my own yard and home after such a grueling trip. I flew in yesterday and shuttled out to the ferry. Got a ride from a friend up island and as soon as I got out of the truck, I sat in the grass (hes 100 lbs, its easier to sit!) and Boots came loping out of the woods to greet me. He collapsed on me and cried and told me how terribly it hurt when I was away...took a good 10 minutes of sitting on the ground with him before he was sure he'd truly survived the horrible lonely experience and could stand and walk back out to the house. I sat with Mom til 8 then crawled down the hill to unpack and crash.

Doesn't it feel good to sleep in one's own bed! No motel walls and roaring airconditioners, just the breeze and a light sudden rain and the sea.

I think Haole has some images to add to this from out in Boise, so if there are none in this posting, check back and see what he has added! Very nice hairwrap and busy show pictures I think. Or maybe a picture of a Beach Freak wearing hairwraps in Mike and Peggy's garden...or that hideous antelope skull with the spider living in the eye socket. They are wild and wooley out there in the desertlands!

Laters!
