Best of the NW Summer Show

Last weekend Sandpoint/Magnusen Park welcomed us to the new location of the Best of the Northwest's Summer Show, and it was a perfect weekend with a great turn out! Sun and blue sky and a sparkling lake were the boundaries of our tree lined street show, and the music, food, book sale, Shakespeare in the Park and the arts made it a delicious weekend. This is going to grow into a fabulous family-fun event as the years pass and more attractions are added! I think it will fill the hole left by Heritage Festival's demise, the show that was the most interesting and entertaining and educational of all the shows we did every year. With the lake and the boat launch and sail clubs, amphitheater and all it may become our favorite summer event.

Thanks to all the staff and friends for their birthday wishes and the many hugs and gifts recieved! Its very good to have such great friends! You all made saturday the most fun it could be! Sales were also good and the warm sun made it ideal. We just went home that night and left it to last night for a nice dinner after load out and a few Down-Under-Rita's at Outback before catching the boat back to the island. Seems like even the easiest show leaves me pretty wiped out these days! Boots had to walk himself at the beach today, all I could handle was the 'town chores' buy lunch and Whidbey's Coffee with Haole and eat in the van while Boot did his sniffing around. The breeze is really high in the harbor today, the sailboats bobbing all over and the crows dodging waves as they dine on baby crabs all over the beach. Now that I'm home I think it might be best to take the day off and get to the work bench early tomorrow...I can't imagine doing more than sitting there staring at the soldering block, anyway! The flowers need dead-heading and the chiles need picking. Got the big juicy tomatos today! Our are still green in the garden, but the onions are ready to pull up. After Boise Art Museum's Art in the Park in 2 weeks, my yard will be very ready for a lot of attention!

Still no fossils in the mail, but keep watching if you are interested in a preview of the things I will make with them for the Fall holiday shows!

Laters!
