Yay! Its time for the Best of the Northwest's Summer Show, outside at Magnusen Park! Much fun to be had by all! Music, food, art, the lake, whats not to love! Even a great dog park and pea patch! Come join us! Its free, and so is the parking!
This weekend from 10-6 we will be presenting our cool new armcharms for the little ones. Also, sizes for Mom as well, for those of you wanting to go with Mommy/Daughter fashions! They are fun, inexpensive and very neat, 3 sizes and 6 colors: purple, turquoise, pink, green, silver and gold in anodized aluminum. They will look great with the matching colored hairwraps. They cost only 12.00, 18.00 and 28.00. These are my prototypes, so there are only 60 of them, and I predict they will be a huge hit! I still have too much time into them, but I will get faster and they will remain inexpensive! Every girl will want one!
I also have 3 of the gorgeous sterling silver armbands, really intricate and detailed, and are a bit expensive, being works of art in precious metal. These are one of a kind treasures that I usually do not have in stock as they take a tremendous amount of time and effort, especially the heavy gauge ones with tight turns and curves. Much hammering and annealing required!
Be sure to come down and see all the new things, including a pretty selection of Chinese turquois! Its definitely BACK in fashion and the refreshing color is so clean and restful! I have several beautiful pendants and earrings as well as a spectacular piece set with a fossilized sand dollar. This is a truly beautiful almost Iconic design, with a strong personality of its own. Maybe I'll include an image of it next blog...I made a file of it, it just seems to have disappeared into the computer somewhere...my skills are pretty patchy and I don't always file things properly! Luckily I solder better than I compute! A bit of a fossil, myself...this the birthday weekend and all! I'm 49! Ohmigosh, how'd that happen!? I still feel 17...except everything hurts most of the time!
Speaking of Fossils, I will soon have a great new supply of fossil sand dollars, some are polished for setting, some are simply tumbled with the matrix attached, and those will be great specimen pieces! I will post a few images when they arrive for those of you that covet the remains of the strange and beautiful creatures that inhabited the ancient world. Sand dollars have not evolved into different creatures, perhaps just perfect as they are...but I also have some trilobite jewelry, great fossil remains of the past that have evolved into our present day horeshoe crabs. You will see the resemblance!
OK I must get to the workbench and get moving on the thousands of hairwraps waiting for me, and Ralph is over setting up the booth with Boots at Sandpoint-Magnussen Park. Be sure to come see the show, it'll be a good preview of all the holiday gifts you can expect to find at the fall Best of the Northwest on November 21-22-23, the last best time to find the very best in special presents and fashions 'Made By Hands You Can Shake'!
Signing off for today,
Barbara
