The last post I did a week or so ago disappeared when I tried to post it...Blogger had a hiccup and the system froze up...And its taken me forever to get back to doing an entry!

The Best of the NW spring show was so much fun! We were across from an ol friend from shows of about 26 years, so a lot of catching up was done! New designs, kids grown and gone, new dogs, all the ususal stuff.
Somehow with friends its like no time has gone by at all, we pick up right where we left.
Sales were good but not record breaking. I sold 2 out of 3 favorite new pieces so that was both good and bad. I didn't get the photo shoot done cause the weather was bad the only weekend it could work out...and now the coolest one is gone! Sales were high end and low end, the crowd pretty darned good and everybody had their newest best work out after a winter of work, Everything looked wonderful and the stand-out staff was tops as usual.

And the publication looks great! Our ads caught a lot of attention and put a lot of good ideas in other advertiser's heads! Yeay!

A lot waited for us to do after getting home, and loads of calls to Haole for work, so I guess he will be busy for a week or 4. Thats good as its a whole month until the next show for us. Plenty of time to replace spider earrings (thought I had a lot...they musta crawled off somewhere) and do some new wild pieces. And Hairwraps, ah yes, the inescapable need for hairwraps!
Watch for them at the grand re-opening of the Fenix in Pioneer Square on this thursday, and coming soon to shows in Austin Texas.

So Whidbey went from blustery (very much like in Robbin's 'Fierce Invalids back from Hot Climates' where he describes wads of mildew and gouts of dark mold-filled clouds scudding across the sound) to really nice and today back to neat little squalls blowing by, first sun, then wind, rain and then gentle again. The garden bloomed great then the wind happened this morning and all the last tulip blooms are all over the yard like confetti. Looks fabulous in that emerald green grass that Haole mows so perfectly all the time. Apple and pear blossoms mixed it. Very nice.

There is one more thing I want to tell everybody about. There is a fabulous webcast site based in Talkeetna Alaska at www.wholewheatradio.org and you NEED to check it out! Esther and Jim are running mp3s of local and not so local talent 24/7 from their tiny cabin not too far from Talkeetna. It plays the most indie stuff ever, many styles, and simulcasts TestingTesting (every other monday) based on Honeymoon Lake in Greenbank up here on Whidbey. Check them out for show lists, and all the stuff about them is so fun. I caught some of Esther's Rant this morning, and will go back when the music picks up. Everybody listen for Derek Parott's 'Upon Green Earth', its a fave and gets a lot of requests. Its 'essential Derek' out here! I'd ask for 'Cows with guns' by Dana Lyons if you have never heard that, too.
While at the site you can draw pictures, play games and leave messages, make requests. Theres some computer voice stuff (you can request your message to be read outload or posted or both) and fun emotives and a real neat community feel, and I notice the computer bantered a bit with Esther today. Maybe trying to be company while Jim is off in The Bush on vacation. He left instructions in case he doesn't make it home soon...bears and all, ya know!
Its streaming audio for 30 people at a time...jump in and take your turn!
Check it out!
Laters!
