Oh my gosh!
I am so excited!
I just got pre-sale tickets ordered to go see Steve Winwood at the Pier next July!
After the Joni hit I had last week, it is really cool to have all new songs running thru my head, "My Old Man" was getting stale...Going straight to Arc Of The Diver today for workshop sounds! Probably have 'Valerie' replaying in my head for the next few days...but how can you not love THAT song?
I even talked Ralph into coming (of course he has til July to get out of it!) so Holly and Rockin Robbie are going with us. Little Koa will go hang with his favorite friend at the Clairemont Hotel, the lucky little keiki.
The last few shows I have seen I went either alone or with Holly...our Dave Matthews fiasco from a few years ago is one for the family history books, a really weird time! Sometimes getting to the mainland can be a real nightmare! Thats why we get so reclusive and reluctant to go 'to america', we are only barely civilized after a few years out here! You forget there is an outside world of traffic and crime and pressure and crowds.
And I must be the biggest Dave Fan on the island...or perhaps just the OLDEST. I know I felt the oldest human at that show. And I have permanently sworn off the Tacoma Dome as a music venue. Its even my least favorite show venue, so I shoulda known!
Its been good having Ralph home from his work travels, we are back to normal, dog walks together, picking cleavers for the herb chest (it makes the most gorgeous green extract!) and mom is much happier to have real company. I can be less than entertaining, but I try, and I do go see her every night, and talk to her several times a day. But she needs more, ya know? What fun are daughters, day after day?
I made this really cool pendant this week, in the vein of the Raven Woman piece from a few weeks ago. I called it Mescalito's Mother. Its 2 wild lace agates in a vaguely kachina shape. If anybody wants to see, email me at workshop@shadowfaxjewelry.com and I'll send the image I made of it.
Well the work bench calls, and I am looking forward to settling in over there. Its not too sunny today, so I may get more done. Nice days really make it hard to concentrate! Got a lot of places to go in jewelry land, today.
Bye!

Haole has been home for 2 whole nights! He has been off island working for the last 4-5 weeks except for the occasional weekend or show date. I bet hes wondering where the maid service went! Still, I know how good it is to get home after that kind of grind.
Boots is much happier. Tiko, too. Of course when Boots accidentally stepped on her today she was pretty mad, but shes ok...for a parrot that had a wolf thing step on her! She will not leave him alone, tho. She has to constantly torment him. Or me. No doubt (in Tiko's mind) who runs our household!
Big wind and stormy dark out here today, but not too cold and dry enough. No beach or woods walkies today...Boots will just have to be patient til it gets nice again! Its hard to get inspired to walk around in this sort of bluster..to the book keeper said its not like this down in Clinton where she lives. We are in an especially windy location here.
No news, just the usual daily chores and stuff, maybe a trip up north for shopping and to order huge color copies from Offic Max. They have about the best price anywhere on big copies, just a couple bucks for 11x17 color prints.
Later!
