Well, its war and turmoil. We are leaving in the morning for Pasco for a show, and I expect it to be a quiet one. But ya never know, we may see families out looking for diversion. And the weather isn't cold enough for snow like last spring out there.
Wish us luck getting back on the island sunday night! Weather permitting we will get home on a late boat...and being a largely military spot, you never know what might be going on. Poor Ralph will have to go back to work in Portland again after the show, he'll see his own home for 2 days out of 2 or more weeks by the time he makes it back...if they don't find something else to keep him there. Hes building the support equipment for the Tacoma Narrows Bridge job.
The house sitter won't take messages for us and the answering machine died after the last power outages, so email us and we'll check messages while we are gone! Be safe and think peace.
Bye!

After a day and a half of perfect sparkling weather, days filled with garden centers, potting soil and compost and only fun jewelry work, its back to stormy weather. Its gray and blowy and really neat. Me and Boots were up early getting ready for our beach walk, our 'town' chores and a mocha from the coffee girl we love so much. The only thing that bugs me is year after year, just when my daffodils and tulips are everywhere, the big wind comes and mashes them flat!
It makes for house bouquets, tho, and thats good as I am always reluctant to cut our flowers and bring them inside where they die so fast. The grape hyacinth and snowdrops I brought with me from Portland 12 years ago did well, but the big hyacinth got flattened...and thats a great scent in the workshop and house! Especially with a dog!
Speaking of which, Mr Boots and I wrestled last night, but he let me win, and I got him into the bathtub for a bath. He smells MUCH better now. I have never known a dog that smelled so much like leaf mold and dead stuff, so fast after a bath! I got maybe another day before hes an allergy factor again! Love him dearly, but boy is this much fur a lot of work! 100 lbs of hair and dead weight made him quite an opponent in the tub! At least he'll be clean-ish for the road trip later this week, over to TriCities for a show. He likes this one as he gets to come along, which makes the house sitter a happy camper, only one small parrot to look after is a lot easier! So Boots will get walks and brushing by whichever little kid happens to be bored in her parents booth (Boots loves little girls but doesn't like boys at all, which parents LOVE) so he is a pretty popular baby sitter! And he loves the attention, and the good scraps from dinners out. He is popular with crafters, too, everybody on the circuit knows him and expects to see him, saves him bones and treats. He is the most excellent and well behaved traveler! The most perfect dog.
Anybody traveling to the area there with a dog: there is a great really nice motel of all suite rooms that takes dogs, and they are only 52 bucks a night. Its Clearwater Inn in Kennewick, and Fran is just great...its our favorite place to stay over in that area, give them a try if you travel with pets or are tired of tiny nasty rooms. Clearwater is big and comfortable, all very new. We stay there at least twice a year, and always book the next one when we check out! It can get filled up cause so many people know how good it is.
OK me and the big wolf-thing are gonna head to the beach now, have a good day and be cozy warm!
Bye!
